These oceans crossing with the 50ft racer CrossRoads might be very fast and spectacular, considering the prevailing trade winds. We might expect some calms when crossing the doldrums and some line squalls up to 40 knots. You learn everything about offshore sailing: meteorology, tactics, routing, communications, navigation, sailing and sail handling and seamanship. Including a few days training before departure this trip is a practical experience and training platform for those who prepare themselves for an ocean crossing or long distance sailing or those that needs to make miles for their Ocean Yacht Master certificate.
The skipper and co-skipper sailed respectively 100.000 and 30.000 nautical miles, all over the world. They are familiar with routes and weather systems in the northern and southern Atlantic Ocean and in the Caribbean. They speak French, English, Dutch, German and limited Portuguese and Spanish.
