Bonaire, an island municipality of the Netherlands, lies off Venezuela’s coast in the southern Caribbean. Its reef-lined coast is protected by Bonaire National Marine Park. Beyond its rich marine life, the island shelters lizards, donkeys and birds within its immense Washington Slagbaai National Park, marked by beaches, lagoons, caverns and desert-like hills.
You arrive in Bonaire where we sail and enjoy the snorkeling with our full-face masks in crystal blue waters. Bonaire is an award-winning diving destination. The underwater paradise awaits you, with more than 350 fish species and 57 species of soft and stony coral.
The Bonaire Regatta is a big national celebration held in October every year. We sign up for October 2019. It consists of a 3-day regatta in the daytime and a festival at night.
The sailing competition will be held in front of Kas di Regatta in Playa. The courses will run between the island of Bonaire and Klein Bonaire. The festival will also be held in Playa. Then the streets of Kralendijk will light up with three big music stages with different styles of music performed by many international bands and artists. Include 25 food stands, dance shows, a flag parade and a brass band and the party is complete.
What makes this sailing event so special, is the relaxed atmosphere. It is not about winning, it is about fun. You don’t find here Volvo Ocean Racers, probably the CrossRoads is the only racer you will see. But you will find an island that celebrates their relationship to the sea, in all age categories. Combine the local atmosphere with the most beautiful turquoise waters from the entire Caribbean, the magnificent snorkeling and diving and you feel reborn.
We offer a 7-days package combined with racing, partying and snorkeling.
